Our Purchasing department is growing, and we are looking for a full-time purchasing supervisor to work within our team in our Foothill Ranch, CA office. This position will be responsible for developing a purchasing plan and managing our purchasing team towards our goals. This includes procuring and purchasing products for the sales organization, supporting North and South America. This role also involves working with our sales and R&D teams on forecast and purchase planning and product set up. Working with our factories on forecast and purchases to ensure correct information and timing for production.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Supervising the purchasing team
  • Developing a purchasing plan with Sales and R & D
  • Work with affiliated and outside factories on purchase forecasts and plans
  • Develop purchase orders for our factories for all Daiwa products (PO Creation)
  • Ensure/follow through lead times and timely delivery of products.
  • Maintain and manage inventory levels.
  • Work with accounting and warehouse departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Verify purchase orders with available stock via comparison to the master lists.
  • Provide reports on inventory vs sales

·       Create, review and enter purchase orders

·       Review commercial document for accuracy and enter

·       Review and processing original bill of lading

·       Create and update import files

·       Update import log weekly and monthly

 

Provides support for customer relations exports by performing the following:

·       Updating all product information (including pricing) for export customer

·       Updating customer files for export processes and fulfillment orders

·       Answering customer inquiries/concerns

 

Assists with maintaining import/export factory information by performing the following:

·       Maintaining communication with each factory

·       Reviewing pricing and quantities for each factory

 

Maintains communication between customers, factories and forwarder by performing the following:

·       Communicates all necessary product/shipping information to export customers via phone and/or email

·       Communicates with freight forwarder via phone and/or email about timing of product exports and imports

 

 

 

 

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Duties:

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred, information engineering in particular
  • 5+ years in purchasing in a global company or related field with 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Supply chain Management skills in the international trading field
  • Experience with Microsoft NAV, GP or AX is highly beneficial
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership aptitude
  • Highly organized
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability for critical thinking and problem solving
