Our SV (Stress-free, Versatile) Spool design is made with one thing in mind- casting control. The design of the spool, as well as how the spool interacts with the braking system, gives maximum control and ease of use when it comes to the situations people might generally struggle with. Whether it is casting lightweight baits, skipping, pitching, casting into the wind, or even if you are just getting accustomed to baticasting reels... the SV spool is designed to help you excel.
When set properly, the Tatula SV reels virtually eliminate backlashes. This is especially important and tougher to acheive with the situations mentioned above. Now with our ground breaking technology and innovations, backlashes can be a thing of the past.
The SV spool has a dynamic induct rotor/cup that sits inside a magnetic track on the sideplate. Thisrotor adjusts the braking pressure of the spool on its own, allowing you to focus on your fishing. When you start a cast, this is when the spool is at its peak speed and most suceptible to a backlash. With the SV spool, the inertia of the spool kicks the rotor away from the spool and further into the sideplate, increasing the magnetic pressure. This makes sure that when the spool is at it's peak speed, you wont backlash. As the spool slows in the middle of a cast, the rotor kicks back into the spool, lessening the magnetic pressure. This allows for maximum casting distance, while still maintaining control.
A "standard" braking system has a fixed pressure on the spool. If you have heavy braking pressure to minimize backlashes, you tend to lose out on casting distance. Similarly, with less braking pressure for more distance, you tend to lose control easier and backlashes become more common. The SV spool and braking system adjust for you on the fly, making sure to give you maximum control AND distance- something not achievable before.
SV Spool-
Extremely lightweight and has a shallower arbor than a standard spool. This allows the braking system to interact with the spool more efficiently, making sure you can make accurate and controlled casts with ease. The lightweight spool has a start up inertia that is much lower than a standard spool, meaning you are able to cast long distances without the extra effort needed with a standard spool. The light weight also allows the brakes to work more efficiently, giving you maximum control.
Magforce-Z-
A magnetic side plate with specially designed grooves allows a rotor on the spool to sit in the track of magnets, as opposed to just moving closer and further away from them. This allows for a smoother braking force throughout the cast.
Our standard Magforce reels and those designed for heavier baits have a fixed rotor on the spool, meaning the braking pressure is consistent across the entirety of the cast.
Magforce-Z incorporates a spool that has a dynamic rotor that can adjust out and back from the spool. As you start a cast and the spool approaches maximum speed, the spool's rotor is kicked out towards from the magnets, creating a smooth braking pressure preventing overrun. As the spool begins to slow nearing the end of the cast, the rotor cup automatically retracts from the magnets – keeping the spool spinning longer- maximizing casting distance.
